I was born and raised in Birmingham in the early 1950s and lived in the West Midlands, following a career in the NHS, until 2013 when I moved to Herefordshire. We stayed there for 5 years and then moved north to Cheshire to be nearer our two sons. I have been married for over 40 years and over that time I have lost many family members, including my parents and my first child but I have also experienced great happiness with many family weddings and celebrations of all kinds. Family is very important to me and currently as well as being close to our two sons, we have two cats and a dog. We have always had animals as part of the family; at one time, we had a labrador and 5 cats – all of whom were rescues or “walk-ins from the neighbourhood”. As you can see, I’m either completely mad or a big softy!
